Congress of Gamers Logo

Have you ever played a game and thought "This would be so much better if..."?
Do you often think of rule changes to games to make them new or unique?
Or have you ever thought of making your own game?

Please join us and local game designers to play-test new and upcoming games in our Unpublished Gaming Room hosted by Break My Game!

We are looking for players like you to provide feedback on games that were created by local designers, to help them improve their games. Even if you are new to gaming, your feedback is valued and your opinions can help shape the games of our future. Don't be surprised when a game you played here this year appears on the open gaming shelves next year!

Play Testing is Easy

Step 1: Find a game that catches your eye. We will have plenty of different games to try. So find one that suites your play style.
Step 2: Sit down and play with old and new friends as the designer helps you get things started and explains the rules.
Step 3: Enjoy the game! The best part of play testing is, no one else has played the game either, so feel free to enjoy yourself!
Step 4: Provide feedback and insight to the designer. Your thoughts and opinion will be used in the game design process!
Step 5: Rinse and Repeat!

Check back here often to find out which games will be play tested at Congress of Gamers this year!

Early entries for the Tysons 2017 convention, are:

  1. Cattle Car - By Austin Smokowicz of Dr. Wictz
Scramble to hire townspeople who assist your cattle drive as you race to catch the last cattle trains to Chicago.

  2. No Ragrets - By Eric Slauson of Small Town Mayor Games
No Ragrets is a social/party game where players are tattoo parlour artists struggling to turn a customer's ridiculous tattoo ideas into ridiculously cool tattoos. Artists will combine common tattoo elements (chains, dinosaurs, the moon, pizza, video game characters, etc.) into crazy tattoos that satisfy the demands of the customer. The customer will then choose which designs are the most clever, crazy, hilarious. Drawing skill is not required!

  3. Hood Bank Atlantis - By Vincent Wu, Cody Silva, and Eric Weiss
    A heist themed, rules-light, story/narrative game.

  4. CON521: The Game Convention Game - By Jole Sparks of CATTHULHU.com
It's the biggest game convention of the year! And once again, you forgot to register. Now you must race your friends to the last seats at your favorite games. Spend your time, Stamina, and money carefully and become Master of the Con!

  5. Prophets - by Robert Marney
Players are Old Testament prophets, trying to predict the future and denouncing the others as false prophets. A light, fast-paced betting card game that balances cooperation and competition.

  6. Businessaire - by Kelvin Johnson of For The Culture Games
You are an entrepreneur looking to start multiple revenue streams in order to open up "brick and mortar" style businesses. The more brick and mortar businesses you own, the more points you get. Player that reaches the set point total wins. (Or whoever has the highest point total at the end of a timed game wins.)
