Have you ever played a game and thought "This would be so much better if..."?
Do you often think of rule changes to games to make them new or unique?
Or have you ever thought of making your own game?

Please join us and local game designers to play-test new and upcoming games in our Unpublished Gaming Room hosted by Break My Game!

We are looking for players like you to provide feedback on games that were created by local designers, to help them improve their games. Even if you are new to gaming, your feedback is valued and your opinions can help shape the games of our future. Don't be surprised when a game you played here this year appears on the open gaming shelves next year!

Play Testing is Easy

Step 1: Find a game that catches your eye. We will have plenty of different games to try. So find one that suites your play style.
Step 2: Sit down and play with old and new friends as the designer helps you get things started and explains the rules.
Step 3: Enjoy the game! The best part of play testing is, no one else has played the game either, so feel free to enjoy yourself!
Step 4: Provide feedback and insight to the designer. Your thoughts and opinion will be used in the game design process!
Step 5: Rinse and Repeat!

For example, at the 2018 Winter Session, we had scheduled:

  1. COLD WARRIOR - by Wes Crawford of Music And Games 4 U
COLD WARRIOR is an espionage card game pitting the United Provinces against the People's Socialist Union. Players assign agents to Military/Industrial, Political, Intelligence Agency, and Crisis Missions around the world to score points, but be aware that a Mole is probably lurking within each agent roster, and counter-intelligence units try to make you fail. Perform your secret National Objective and score bonus points!
  2. GameCon - by David Smith of Winsmith Games
Players are attendees at a gaming convention, visiting Publisher Booths, playing mini-games, and collecting Merch (which can be used in multiple ways).
  3. Flicked & Furious - by David Smith of Winsmith Games
    A dexterity, combative racing game.
  4. #refugee card game - by Thomas Mon of Forstle LLC
#refugee card game is a 2-4 player, turn-based strategy card game in which players assume the roles of countries attempting to address an acute global influx of refugees. Players take turns discovering certain facts and pieces of information about each refugee. Leveraging this knowledge, players then make choices on how best to manage the effects that these refugees will have on the security of their borders and countries. #refugee card game affords players flexibility the form of alternate win-conditions as well as ad-hoc collaboration in games with more than 2 players. Will you try to allow as many refugees as possible into your country or will you try to eliminate your opponents by redirecting “undesirable” refugees away from your borders?
  5. Sprites: Battle Arena - by Stephen Terenzi, and Henry Serafim
Up to 4 players can compete for the crowd's affection in the Battle Arena. The game is turned-based and is a free-for-all. Each player can attack who they prefer and defend how they want to. If a player acts successfully, then the crowd will award them cheers. But the most significant tactics and techniques they want to see revolve around the management of Sprites. The Sprites seen in and out of the game are companions. And they have the power to fuel the various tools used in the Battle Arena. Equipping your tools, harnessing Sprites, and dominating other contestants is how you play Sprites: Battle Arena.
  6. Monaxem - by Kyle Catanzaro
Hurl scissors, dinosaurs, and psychotic chickens at your opponents in this hilarious card game!
  7. Swords & Sails by Jason Williams of VR-Soft.com LLC
    Conquer Europe in 1000 AD
  8. Talli by Jason Williams of VR-Soft.com LLC
Tali is the Roman Game of Knucklebones. We have re-discovered the rules as played in gambling houses in Byzantium. Choose your historically player character, which will give you special powers in the game.
  9. Squads - by Matt Willmott of Lux Numina Tabletop Games
An abstract strategy game in which players control a "squad" of pieces: pilots, blockers, guards, and one royal. Blockers provide cover or, occupied by pilots, can be stacked and unstacked to rapidly cover the board. Get your royal to its home square, immobilize all other players' royals, or enact a clandestine strategy with one secret "burglar" piece. The fluid gameplay requires both long-term strategy and short-term tactical thinking. Two *or* four players.
  10. Rebels of Ravenport - by Mike Coleman of Secret Weapon Games
Take back Ravenport! A card drafting and dice game for 2-6 players. Coming to Kickstarter March 2018
  11. Interferon - by Todd Blatt, and Eric Clarkson of Custom 3D Stuff LLC
Interferon is a fully cooperative puzzle game in which each player takes on the role of a virologist attempting to create a DNA vaccine.
