The Junta Challenge
TIME: Sun., Sept. 9, at 10 am; PLAYERS: 5-7
GM/Judge: Otto Schmidt
$50 Cash Prize!
The Society of Daisy sponsors this event of the classic game of
Junta! One game, seven players and a cash prize that goes to the
player who is the hammiest actor of all. Do you have what it takes
to play "El Presidente" as he would be played only in the worst B
movie from Hollywood! The game is a normal game, but the prize goes
to the person who is the funniest cut up, blends the most outrageous
Spanish accent with the most hilarious sarcasm and satire. So bring
your most outrageous accent, (actually doesn't have to be Spanish) your most insufferable one-liners and plan to chew up the carpet, claw the curtains and act like every stereotypical dictator and
corrupt general you've ever seen. Come in costume if you wish—can't hurt! REMEMBER!! It's not the guy who wins the most for their
Swiss bank account, but for the guy who makes us laugh the most.
Sorry—no slipping on a banana peel—it's not that much of a banana
republic! We've had one guy play the General of the 3rd Brigade as Senior Wences so you have a lot to live up (or down) to. NOTE! Game
will only take place if we have five or more sign-ons. We can take up
to 7.
Shown in the photograph is the team of players from the last Junta
Challenge game, given at Cold Wars 2005. From left is Newt Rogina,
Pete Zaria, Manuel Transmission, Warren Peace, Pikup Andropov
(winner), Jackson Jills, Holden McGroyne. And Sam and Janet
Evening. When asked where he got the material for his outrageously
funny speeches before the chamber of Deputies which put him way ahead
for the Daisy Medal, he said "The Congressional Record." |
